Transportation Sales Representative
Calls on National and Major Accounts in the Branch territories such as OEM, Tier I, Tier II and other customers who supply the automotive industry. Contacts may include management representatives such as engineers, Trim Quality Managers, designers, Research Managers, purchasing or other professionals and technical personnel within transportation industry perspective customers.
A person in this position will work to move the customer toward action and convince prospective clients of the desirability and practically of products or services offered by company.
Confirm customer expectations and seek opportunities to expand the business and value to customers.
Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders.
Reports any major changes in customers product usage to insure timely delivery to customers.
Communicates quality problems to TFM, Sales Manager and Manufacturing to prevent loss of business.
Works with company engineers within TFM, R&D, manufacturing and machinery areas to propose changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services which would result in cost reduction, improvement in operations and enhanced designs to enable company product sales growth.
Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads. Based on information from existing contacts, business directories and other sources validate opportunities and develop sales strategies.
Research new opportunities within scope of company's development capabilities, by attending Trade shows and utilizing other marketing tools available.
Assists in developing new marketing strategies and budget to obtain business in exiting or new markets.
Assist and/or conducts research studies to develop new concepts in transportation engineering field.
Prepares weekly sales reports to provide current sales information to management.
Review account receivable data furnished by Accounting to assist in the collection of delinquent accounts.
Prepares annual travel and entertainment budgets.
Assists the in training of Sales Representatives and Sales Engineers.
Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
Good oral and written communication skills, professional appearance, outgoing nature required.
Must be able to travel in order to visit customers/clients/attend meetings and seminars as required.

Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years experience in the automotive industry.
